Ask citizens about their health – Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district

Project in the district.

A project is currently determining how health care is structured in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district and the city of Freiburg. And it should bring to light where there is a need for action in the following years. To this end, citizens will be written to in the coming weeks who are supposed to take part in a survey, as project manager Julia Tamm announced to the district council’s social and hospital committee.

Citizens are asked, among other things, how far they are to the nearest doctor, which media they use as a source of information for health topics and whether they can, for example, also imagine using an online video consultation. A regional health day is planned for late autumn, during which the results will be presented in the presence of State Health Minister Manfred Lucha. In addition, it is the task of Tamm and her team to get all those responsible from the regional health system – which also includes the Freiburg clinics – around one table to discuss the future direction of the health system, with a focus on emergency care and outpatient care and inpatient care. Apparently that has not been the case in the past. Before Corona, there was almost no exchange between the clinics. “Nobody knew what the other was doing,” said District Administrator Dorothea Störr-Ritter in the committee. It was only through the pandemic that cooperation had improved. The project now wants to build on this.
