While Apple was one of the first companies to allow its employees to work entirely from home, that will soon be over. Apple employees are now petitioning to allow them to work from home full-time for longer. This is evident from a report by Recode.
Apple will require its employees to return to the office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from September, with the option to work remotely on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Covid-19
The employees state in the letter that they are concerned about the rising Covid-19 figures and the unknown long-term effects of infection. Working from home full-time also gives the opportunity to look for a home outside the expensive Cupertino.
The Apple employees are discussing the topic in a Slack channel with more than 6,000 members. About ten people there have said they will resign if they are forced to return to the office.
