Asimakopoulou: Wild fight on air – Who else got personal data? – 2024-03-29 11:11:11

The scandal of the case of Anna-Michel Asimakopoulou and the leakage of personal data of citizens has raised the tone of the political confrontation.

Yannis Loverdos, Member of Parliament of New Democracy, referring to what has happened in the last few days with the e-mails to expatriates and Mrs. Anna Michele Asimakopoulou, commented: “There is no doubt that in this case “it became a potato”, mainly because he gave the possibility for some to damage the credibility of the platform that will be used for the postal vote in the European elections of June 9″. However, as Mr. Loverdos pointed out, there is no issue with the reliability of the platform.

Loverdos: “There may have been some foolishness, some lightness, but it is unacceptable”

Regarding the issue of political responsibilities at the intra-party level, Mr. Loverdos clarified that the president of the New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis “does not accept even a fly on his sword in matters of moral and political order”. And he added: “From what I learned, even Mr. Stavrianoudakis did not know about it, but he assumed the burden of political responsibility. You know, there may have been a bit of nonsense here, a bit of levity, but it’s unacceptable.”

Pappas: “Did Ms. Kerameos know or not, she is the responsibility of the Ministry of the Interior”

Petros Pappas, SYRIZA member of parliament, for his part, reported on the issue “if the prime minister does as in the other scandals in which justice was not finally served, alas for us”. Mr. Pappas emphasized that this is not a “potato” of the government, “but a very serious blow to the credibility of the process of the Ministry of the Interior, to the credibility of the protection of personal data and at the same time questioning the ability of the ministry to carry out the process of electronic voting”.

Regarding Niki Kerameos, Minister of the Interior, Mr. Pappas noted: “Whether she knew it or not, she is the responsibility of a ministry.” In conclusion, the SYRIZA MP raised the question “only Ms. Asimakopoulou got an email, who else got personal data?” The ND treats the state as a spoil to which it can do whatever it wants.”

Pavlos Christidis, member of parliament in PASOK-KINAL, which, through announcements it has made, calls for the dismissal of the Minister of the Interior, said:

“PASOK has said from the first moment that we are talking about a scandal on two levels: the first concerns Ms. Asimakopoulou and the way she managed some personal data and the second scandal concerns where she found the personal data.” And he went on to say “the supposed technocrats of Greece 2.0 are handing out the personal data of Greek citizens to the secretary of the expatriate Hellenism of the ND to satisfy the large percentages of the ND government”.

Christidis: “It is crucial to find out if this has happened in other cases as well”

“Mr. Loverdos uses an interesting argument: innocent by reason of stupidity. If this is an argument for those who hold the destinies of the country in their hands, we must keep it. It is also critical to find out if this has happened in other cases as well.”
