Before becoming a speaker at the international event which was attended by researchers, Master’s and Doctoral students, Fathia prepared many things. When registration for speakers opened, Fathia already had her research and abstract. He also dared to register because the same opportunity does not come twice. Because of his courage, he was successfully accepted as a speaker at the parallel speaker session. According to him, the toughest challenge he faced was language. He also practiced a lot and often had discussions with his supervisor, Prof. Dr. Taufiq Hidajat, DEA
Fathia said that this international event was the first she had participated in. This is accompanied by many challenges. For him, it is better to try than not try at all and regret it later. Regarding costs, he is not worried. He said that many people helped him to take part in this activity, starting from Astronomy Study Program lecturers, seniors, and also IAU.
Fathia advised friends who want to try new things to still have the courage to try, prepare themselves well, and don’t forget to ask for help from other people.
“Just be brave, try it if you have the opportunity, if you are afraid, first practice, try, the important thing No be shy. “Be brave, practice, and ask people for help,” he said.
Fathia’s courage to get out of her comfort zone makes an impression on her life, especially when she can deliver presentations. He explained that this was his first time presenting publicly internationally. Apart from that, he received constructive suggestions regarding the topic of his final assignment and developments in related topics in other countries. In this activity, he made many new friends from Dubai and Taiwan, as well as good people who wanted to help and liked to learn.
