Kochi: Ashok Das, a guest worker from Arunachal Pradesh, was killed in Muvattupuzha after being beaten up by a mob, the police said. The arrest of all the ten people taken into custody was recorded. The post-mortem report says that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and chest. He was beaten up after questioning his arrival at his girlfriend’s house.
On Thursday night, the incident took place on the small Orakam road at Valakam intersection. Ashok Das, who was seen with bleeding wounds on his hand, was interrogated by a group of people who tied him to an iron pole on which a signboard to a nearby temple was placed. Later, by the time the police arrived, he was bleeding and limp.
The police took him to Muvattupuzha General Hospital, but the doctors referred him to Kottayam Medical College as he would require specialist treatment. Meanwhile, Ashok Das died.
