Ashley Young officially ended his adventure in Inter Milan. The 35-year-old defender left Nerazzurri and join his old club, Aston Villa.
Young has been an important part of Inter since being brought in at the beginning of 2020. The former Manchester United player made 44 appearances in Serie A and was able to deliver The beloved one Italian League champions 2020/2021.
Young’s contract at Inter expires at the end of June. He chose not to renew his contract at the Giuseppe Meazza, and decided to return home to England.
Young accepted an offer from a Premier League club, Aston Villa. The Watford dropout defender was brought to Villa Park on a free transfer and tied to a year-long contract.
“Aston Villa are pleased to announce the signing of Ashley Young. The 35-year-old has signed a one-year contract after helping Inter Milan win Serie A last season,” Villa said in a statement on Friday (18/6/2021) early morning hrs.
Villa itself is not a foreign club for Young. He played there in 2007-201, and collected 190 games together The Lions with a record 38 goals.
Young doesn’t hide his happiness to be back in uniform Aston Villa. He said he was excited to start the new season with Jack Grealish et al.
“It feels great to be back, it’s like I haven’t left yet. I’m happy to be back again, to see the old faces, to be back at the training ground, to see the facilities and how well they are developing,” he said. Ashley Young.
