Ashley Judd, the star of Hollywood productions such as, among others “Kolekcjoner” or “Double Threat” in her original book “All That is Bitter & Sweet” made a kind of public confession. Looking back on her childhood in Kentucky, she confessed that it was then that something happened that led to her later mental health problems.
Being the daughter of a country singer (she was Naomi Judd) who was more into her own career than a child, Ashley she was raped by an elderly man in the neighborhood and then by one of her close relatives. After another act of sexual violence occurred in 1999, Judd she became pregnant. However, the child was not born. Ashley decided to have the fetus removed.
I am so grateful that I was able to gain access to a safe and legal abortion

– she said afterwards.
After a hard time, Judd seemingly managed to break out of Hellthat was prepared by her immediate environment. And although with hard work she achieved success in Hollywood and (as it might seem) she finally found happiness in getting married in 2001 with rally driver Dario Franchitti, the demons of the past haunted her. Then she heard the diagnosis: depression.
For the next five years, the actress she tried to deal with the problems on her ownbut these kept getting bigger. Finally, in 2006, Ashley Judd decided to seek professional help. So here it is started therapy at the Shades of Hope Treatment Center in Texas. As she confessed long-term treatment allowed her to stand on her feetas well as being free from the dark past and the nightmares that tormented her every day.
I realized that it was my childhood that deprived me of my strength and willingness to live. The ways I came up with to deal with these problems made it impossible for me to live a normal adult life. I realized that I needed the help of someone stronger than me to find peace and a new way of life.

Why, after all, she decided to go back to the history from years ago and tell about painful experiences in the public forum? In an interview with People magazine, she explained that the topic of health she had covered in the book would not have been complete if she had not delved into the painful issue of her childhood.
“I never intended to go into detail about the sexual abuse I suffered many years ago. I’d be happy to ignore that completely in my book. However, our past, full of pain, sometimes has the greatest impact on our lives “- she explained.
According to me no point in sharing my recovery story if I don’t also share the nasty things that caused me this disease. I was fed up with the fact that I was fed up with everything and didn’t know what was wrong with me … On the surface I looked like a person full of life, but inside I was consumed by anxiety and insomnia. It’s too late to turn back time and have a wonderful childhood, but thanks to God’s grace and therapy, today I’m enjoying life

– she confessed to the “Today” program.
The 54-year-old star today recently appeared on the podcast “Healing With David Kessler”, in which she once again shared how she managed to cope with dramatic experiences.
“It turned out to be overwhelming to know how crazy and absurd this experience was. I was then a grown woman, a conscious feminist. I thought I could defend myself against something like that. It took me a long time to come to terms with what had happened” – she said.
She also confessed that years later decided to meet the man who sexually abused her.
I started looking for him. It didn’t take long, he revealed himself quickly. We ended up making an appointment. Sitting in rocking chairs, we started talking. I was curious about his story, which he carried with him all these years. We had a conversation about restorative justice.

– she explained.
“I share this because there are many ways to deal with pain. I didn’t want anything from him. The truth is, his remorse and remorse were just an addition. In order to recover from the trauma, I had to do a lot of work myself “- she added.
We remind you that this Ashley Judd was one of Harvey Weinstein’s first Hollywood actresses to commit sexual harassment. Convicted of multiple rapes and sexual abuses, the former film giant lured her into a hotel room under the pretext of talking about further film roles. He wanted her to watch him take a shower.
