Sleman –
Singer Ashanty has tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from a holiday in Turkey. He is suspected to have been exposed to the Omicron type of Corona virus.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud Md when asked about the news, admitted that he did not know.
“(Ashanty was exposed to Omicron?) Wow, I don’t know, if that’s what Anang said,” said Mahfud at the integrated campus of the Indonesian Islamic University (UII), Sleman, DIY, Friday (7/1/2022).
Apart from the news, Mahfud conveyed that the handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia has been recognized by the world. This week, said Mahfud, Indonesia’s position is on a par with China and Japan.
“But what I want to convey is that Indonesia is the three that the world calls level one. Three countries are now considered the best, China, Indonesia, Japan in handling COVID, at least this week,” he said.
Previously, singer Ashanty was reported to have tested positive for the Omicron variant of COVID-19 after returning from a trip from Turkey. The Ministry of Health gave an explanation.
Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Vaccine Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi said Ashanty has not confirmed the Omicron variant. But he confirmed Ashanty was positive for Corona.
“Indeed, there are PPLNs, one of which is initials A when the entry test obtained a positive PCR result and is currently undergoing quarantine at a quarantine hotel,” said Nadia, to reporters, Friday (7/1).
Nadia said that the provisions for people from abroad will be examined by two methods, namely S-gene target failure (SGTF) and Work Health and Safety (WHS). Including Ashanty who is undergoing examination.
“Currently, we are in the process of examining both of them and to localize Omicron, the government has taken a policy that all positive cases must be isolated in a centralized hospital or Wisma Athlete,” he explained.
