Real Madrid Coach Charles Ancelotti doubt about goals Marco Asensio which was annulled. Coach Barcelona Xavi Hernandez even respond.
Real Madrid lost 1-2 to Barcelona at Camp Nou, Monday (20/3/2023) early morning WIB, in El Clasico in the Spanish League continued. Madrid took the lead first through a Ronald Araujo own goal, then Barca replied through Sergi Roberto and Franck Kessie.
In the 1-1 position, Madrid actually scored a goal in the 83rd minute through Marco Asensio. However, the goal was disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for offside.
After that it was Barcelona who gained momentum and scored the winning goal in injury time.
Carlo Ancelotti questioned that Asensio’s goal was disallowed because replays and screenshots showed a very narrow margin. Xavi Hernandez then responded also with a sense of wonder, because according to him, currently offside can be proven and there is a scientific basis.
“I was surprised that Ancelotti had doubts about the goal being disallowed, because it’s a scientific matter,” he was quoted as saying Sport.
“It was clearly offside and there is no doubt. If people talk about VAR today, yes, they are joking. The offside is very clear,” he added.
