Next year the systems of the institutions will work in sync and income measures will be able to be applied, now it will be a circus
The owner of “Maserati” will not pour the cheapest gasoline, because the repair will cost him thousands of levs
I am against differentiated rates, but better for bread than for wine and beer
We will live at least a few years with higher food and fuel prices
The implementation of an income mechanism of anti-crisis measures is currently not possible. The reason is that at the moment the state does not know which citizen actually has what income. Because the systems of the administrations are not synchronized. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Asen Vassilev on the tripartite.
At the moment, this defect is being removed in order to know who gets what, and so from next year the unified system will work. In this way, the measures will be able to be targeted to people’s needs. At the moment, this would turn into a circus, not only will they not work, but they will not help, Vassilev added.
The business insists on the continued reduction of VAT on wine and bread, which will again become 20 percent. You know that I am against differentiated rates, but if there are any, it is better for bread, Vassilev added.
He was adamant that the proposed anti-crisis measures do not violate financial discipline. He explained that a reduction of up to 9% of the heating and electricity is proposed, because there is the main increase, and Bulgarian resources are used for electricity. He reminded the business that he was compensated for the price of electricity and instead of BGN 400 he paid BGN 250. Only here 45% were stolen so as not to influence the final prices, Vassilev added.
One of the measures is to use a discount of 25 stotinki per liter. However, it will be for the cheapest gasoline and diesel without additives. Here the unions explained that rich Bulgarians, who really do not need support, will also benefit from this measure. The discount is for the lowest fuel class. The owner of “Maserati” will not refuel without additives in order to save a few pennies and then pay for repairs for thousands of levs, Vassilev told them.
The Deputy Prime Minister explained that fuel prices will not fall dramatically soon. Food prices will also not fall until ports are opened and Ukraine begins to export grain. We will live at higher prices for at least a few years, he added.
