On March 27, 2023, ASEAN FOOTBALL reported that the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) wanted to organize an ASEAN Championship. Models under 23 years old, the 4th time this year, ready to aim for Thailand and Vietnam to host the competition.
The AFF will assess both countries’ stadiums this week. to see where they are more equipped to host competitions Then the committee will make a decision to select the host again.
Initially, the AFF wants to organize this tournament in November. For the reason of selling live broadcast rights but the Football Association of Thailand proposed to be held in August instead because he did not want to collide with the Thai League program
As for the ASEAN U-23 Championship, it has been held 3 times in 2005, 2019 and 2022, where Thailand was the first host. The latter two were held in Cambodia.
