The ASEAN-Indo Pacific Forum (AIPF) will be held on 5-6 September 2023 as part of the 2023 ASEAN Summits series at Hotel Mulia Jakarta, 5-6 September. A number of state officials and international representatives are scheduled to attend the meeting.
According to the website of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is scheduled to give a speech at the AIPF. BUMN Minister Erick Thohir is also scheduled to attend the event. Both were present on the first day of AIPF.
There will be a panel session with the theme General Outlook From the Region which will be filled in by World Bank President Ajay Banga, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, and hosted by moderator Chatib Basri, Former Minister of Finance of Indonesia 2013-2014.
Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Arsjad Rasjid is also scheduled to give a speech regarding the ABAC program related to AIPF and the Indo-Pacific. Then the agenda continued in a panel session on the three sub-themes of AIPF. This session was attended by Ahmed Mazhari (President of Microsoft Asia), Abdulaziz Alobaidli (COO of Masdar) and Sunarso (CEO of Bank Rakyat Indonesia).
On the second day of AIPF or on September 6, a number of speakers will discuss several sub-themes of the event. There is the name of Pertamina’s President Director Nicke Widyawati who will discuss environmental-friendly infrastructure and a resilient supply chain.
Meanwhile Rosan Roeslani, Deputy Minister of BUMN will give a speech regarding inclusive digital transformation. Deputy Foreign Minister Pahala Mansury is also scheduled to give a short speech regarding the Acceleration of the Green Transition: The Role of Indonesia and ASEAN.
The cooperation between ASEAN and its partners in the Indo-Pacific is the key to maintaining this growth momentum. Stakeholders from the business world and the public from ASEAN Member Countries and their partners will work together in concrete cooperation in an inclusive manner and further unlock ASEAN’s potential as a center of growth.
“ASEAN-Indo Pacific Forum (AIPF): Implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific, is a flagship event organized by Indonesia as part of the ASEAN Chair in 2023,” wrote the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement, Saturday (2/9/ 2023).
