ASEAN-Canada jointly review progress and determine direction to guide relations in every dimension

The prime minister welcomed the commitment of Prime Minister Trudeau and Canada to enhance their existing cooperation. as well as expand cooperation in new areas with ASEAN to strengthen The Prime Minister took the opportunity to present three important agendas for ASEAN-Canada. should jointly push the following:
1. Create new economic opportunities and stimuli, together with the development of the digital economy. and increase digital capabilities for entrepreneurs Especially among MSMEs and startups, which are important drivers of economic growth in the region.
2. Strengthen human security in particular public health security and human capital development. Thailand appreciated Canada’s role in supporting ASEAN in the fight against COVID-19 and hopes that the two sides will continue to work together to strengthen public health security. through the ASEAN Center for Public Health Emergency Response and Emerging Diseases Including fostering continued cooperation in education through the ‘Seed’ Project (SEED), which provides funds to develop human resources to be ready for the various changes that occur in the present and in the future.
3. Third, accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals, such as women’s empowerment. promoting green growth ASEAN and Canada can work together to promote a partnership for sustainable development. and push forward new initiatives through the ASEAN Center for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue. Including other cooperation frameworks such as APEC, where Thailand pushes the BCG economic model as an important concept to host this year.
After the meeting ended at around 8:30 pm, the Prime Minister and his wife attended the Gala Dinner hosted by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia In honor of the leaders of the countries who attended the meeting at the Chroy Changvar International Convention and Exhibition Center (CICC).
