On Holy Saturday – on the eve of Easter – in Jerusalem, in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the ceremony of the descent of the blessed fire traditionally takes place. This year, the symbol of the Light of the Resurrection of Christ should descend on May 4. The main ceremony should begin at 12:30 Kyiv time.
On the eve of Holy Saturday, in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, all candles, lamps and panic candles are extinguished. On Saturday morning, delegations from all Christian churches inspect Kuvukuliya and seal it. Kuvuklia is a chapel built over a grave, it is also called a cave. It is there, according to beliefs, that Jesus Christ was resurrected. The blessed fire also rises there.

Representatives of seven Christian denominations: Orthodox, Armenian, Catholic, Greek-Catholic, Coptic, Protestant, are waiting for the miraculous descent of the blessed fire near the church. They will take the Blessed Fire home from the Holy Land.
Before the fire rises, the Patriarch of Jerusalem and the Archimandrite of the Armenian Apostolic Church enter Kuvuklia, reading prayers. After the fire rises, the patriarch will light 33 candles and take them out of the temple. They are a symbol of the years that Jesus Christ lived on earth before the crucifixion and resurrection.
