Asbestos cement removal works begin at the Santa Florentina school in La Palma | Radio Cartagena

The students of CEIP Santa Florentina they will return to the classrooms no fiber cement present next year. Thursday July 23 work began to remove this material at the La Palma school, where a 197-square-meter roof will be replaced.

All these centers are included within the list of 12 educational centersof the municipality of Cartagena in which fiber cement roofs will be removed during the 2020-2021 biennium, according to the calendar approved this year in collaboration between the Ministry of Education and the Cartagena City Council.

After the approval of this calendar, last January, the Department of Education began to work on the draft of the delegation of powers, in order to speed up the replacement of roofs with the presence of this material in educational centers throughout the municipality, a document that was approved in May.

In this way, the Autonomous Community will finance the works of certain centers, what will be executed through the municipal services of the Cartagena City Council. Currently, municipal technicians are drafting the necessary technical documents to proceed to contract new fiber cement removal works in other educational centers in Cartagena and its neighborhoods and county councils.
