48-year-old Mackenzie Bezos said she would give the 55-year-old ex-husband all her shares in The Washington Post and space exploration firm Blue Origin, as well as voting rights over her remaining Amazon shares.
Bezoss and novelist Makenzia Tatla married in 1993 and have four children. Bezoss founded Amazon in his garage in Seattle in 1994 and over time turned the company into a giant that dominates Internet retail.
Amazon, with a market capitalization of approximately $ 890 billion, said in a statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that McCenzy Bezos will control 4% of the company’s outstanding common stock.
Given the current price of Amazon’s stock, she will own $ 35.6 billion worth of stock.
