VIVA – A mass group of about 100 people at 2 in the morning, Sunday, January 2, 2022 came to the Islamic Boarding School (Islamic Boarding School) As-Sunnah, Aikmel District, East Lombok.
The crowd wore face coverings and immediately damaged the front fence of the Islamic Boarding School or the As-Sunnah Headquarters which was made of spandex. They damaged five four-wheeled vehicles and seven motorcycles. Some of the vehicles include burned pulp.
Not only that, the security post and clinic in As-Sunnah were also damaged by angry mobs. At 2.20 WITA, members of the Koramil, the Aikmel Police and the Wanasaba Police arrived at the scene and prevented the commotion from spreading.
The crowd finally dispersed at 2.30. Meanwhile, the burning vehicle was extinguished. But the incident did not stop there.
Suddenly, at 3.00 WITA in the morning, the masses started vandalizing and burning in the building Masjid As-Syafii, Mamben Daya Village, Wanasaba District, East Lombok. The mosque is not a finished mosque, but a mosque that is still under construction.
“The mosque is not yet fully finished. It’s just a construction site. There are only pillars. So it’s not completely a mosque,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Regional Police. NTB, Artanto.
