In Rotterdam, the reaction to the victory of Roma, in five days’ time, the opponent in Tirana will have been approving. Perhaps less good news is that the Romans played an excellent game, although coach Jose Mourinho gave a number of players a break, including Rick Karsdorp.
Abraham in top form
Top scorer Tammy Abraham and Leonardo Spinazzola, who returned from an injury, were at the kick-off. Abraham again showed that his sights are sharp. After more than half an hour, he cut himself free and shot in the 1-0. Before halftime, the Englishman made his seventeenth goal of the season from the penalty spot.
In the second half, Roma slowed down a bit and Karsdorp came within the lines. In the 78th minute Spinazzola was allowed to shoot in the 3-0 from the penalty spot.
With an excellent dress rehearsal in the pocket, there is still one game on the schedule for AS Roma: the Conference League final on 25 May against Feyenoord.
