Poland has been threatened with veto rights after the European Union court has decided to severely punish Poland with one million euros a day for non-compliance with the Union’s decisions, TV3 News reports.
The dispute concerns the reform of the Polish judiciary, which raises suspicions of undermining the independence of the judiciary. According to the European Court of Justice, Poles have posed a threat to the legal order of the European Union and to the values on which the European Union is founded. Warsaw, meanwhile, is threatening to veto the European Council in order to slow it down.
