In addition, the list of valid military vehicles is quite extensive. It includes both production cars and municipal specialized equipment. There are penalties for refusing to comply with the request.
As part of the mobilization, buses, trucks and trailers, as well as any construction equipment, snow off-road vehicles, quads and motorcycles can be seized from vehicle owners.
Cars of the M1G and N1G categories, such as “Suzuki Grand Vitara”, “Nissan X-Trail”, “Chevrolet Niva”, etc., can be requested from residents. The second of the categories mentioned includes all UAZ SUVs and GAZ commercial vehicles.
However, it is allowed to withdraw equipment for the benefit of the army without declaring martial law only to legal persons. According to this law, however, cars can be seized from private individuals only in the event of a declaration of martial law throughout the country or part of it.
According to specialists, the Russian military currently has the greatest need for emergency medical vehicles, tow trucks and excavators, as well as fire, police and rescue vehicles.
For refusing to transfer their vehicle to the needs of the army in the context of mobilization, a fine of 300 to 500 rubles (5.3 to 8.8 euros) is imposed for natural persons and up to 20,000 rubles (354 euro) for legal persons.
On Wednesday 21 September, the Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin announced a “partial” mobilization.
