The employees, who have had unchanged wages for years, want a 30% increase from July 1, 2024 and 15% from 2025.
Those working in the Executive Agency for the Environment, the Regional Inspectorates for the Environment and Water (RIOSV), together with The basin directorates and the National Parks, unionized and represented in FNSZ and FSOGSDP to KNSB, announced their readiness for protest actions – first with a peaceful protest at the workplace from today, October 29, and if the demands are not met, with a transition to effective protests.
This is stated by the presidents of the two federations – Valentina Vasilenova, of the FNSZ and Konstantin Cholakov, of the FSOGSDP, through an alarming letter sent to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Environment and Water and Finance. It is accompanied by a protest signature from over 600 employees.
For almost a year now, mechanisms for a deep, clear and regulated social dialogue with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications have been persistently sought, with which to discuss the issues of those working in the system, to seek joint solutions and a reasonable balance of social tension. So far, no such dialogue has been achieved, which has exhausted people’s patience and trust, the statement said.
In connection with all the current legal requirements and European regulations, in recent years the volume of daily work has increased three times, while salaries remain at the same levels.
The requests of the employees are:
- A 30% increase in the basic monthly salaries until the end of 2024, starting from 1.07.2024.
- Planned increase of salaries in the budget of the Ministry of Education and Culture for 2025 by at least 15%.
- Changes in the regulatory framework in the state administration to allow:
- annual increase in basic salaries;
- adequate consideration of experience, qualifications and working conditions.
