AS Monaco draws first game, unfortunate role for debutant Boadu

Myron Boadu has his first game as a player of AS Monaco played a tie. The striker was unable to distinguish himself and was played after an hour.

Boadu came over from AZ for around twenty million euros this week and was immediately put in the starting lineup against Nantes by Monaco coach Niko Kovac. He probably imagined his first match differently. His first chance was unfortunately ruined, but the second should have been taken. Boadu intercepted a back pass, passed the keeper, but couldn’t control the ball and shot wide.

Moments later, Monaco made it 1-0 and Boadu was involved. He played left back Caio Henrique, who gave the cross to goalscorer Gelson Martins. However, Monaco was unable to hold onto the lead and conceded the equalizer from Jean-Charles Castelletto after the break.

Monaco still had chances to score the winning goal in the final phase, but the Monegasques were not awarded that.
