AS Monaco will travel to Nîmes this Sunday at 3 p.m. For this meeting of the 24th day of Ligue 1, facing the Gard red lantern, Monegasque coach Niko Kovac has chosen to establish Benoît Badiashile, Fodé Ballo-Touré and Aleksandr Golovin.
The 19-year-old central defender was uncertain since his exit at the break on Wednesday against Nice (2-1). A derby during which he had suffered a big contusion to the hip following an aerial duel with Dolberg.
The Croatian technician announced this week that he would bring fresh blood to his team engaged in a series of five games in fourteen days.
He kept his word and relaunched Fodé Ballo-Touré in the left lane instead of Caio Henrique. The former Lille had not started a match since the heavy defeat conceded against Lens (0-3, December 16).
Another ghost: Aleksandr Golovin. The Russian had not started an L1 match since the second day in Metz (0-1, August 30).
As a reminder, Gelson Martins (knee) is the only element to have withdrawn.
Niko Kovac had called 21 players for this trip to the Gard and he did not put Eliot Matazo on the scoresheet.
The eleven Monegasque: Lecomte – Sidibé, Maripan, Badiashile, Ballo-Touré – Diop, Fofana, Tchouaméni, Golovin – Volland, Ben Yedder (cap.)
Replacements: Majecki (g) – Henrique, Matsima, Aguilar, Disi – Diop, Fabregas – Pellegri, Jovetic.
