As many as 180,000 people came to the Frankfurt Book Fair

Frankfurt am Main: At the end of the book fair, the organizers took stock. According to them – after two years with corona restrictions – more than 180,000 visitors returned to the fair. But this is still significantly lower than before the pandemic. In 2019, around 300,000 visitors were counted. Book Fair Director Boos stressed the importance of the book fair. In the midst of an oppressive global political situation, the fair is sending important signals. In times of heated debate, personal interviews are an antidote to polarization, Boos said in Frankfurt. On the last day of yesterday’s Book Fair, Ukrainian writer Serhij Zhadan was awarded the Peace Prize in St. Paul’s Church.
