As in another world. Surreal views of the volcanic island of Palma

The photos taken on the island of Palma at the end of October show an almost surreal, surreal picture – houses, cemeteries and other buildings are covered with a thick, flat layer of ash. Some houses are completely buried, others have clogged doors.

It is known that ashes from a volcano are fired into the sky even at a height of thousands of meters, but the heaviest particles fall to the ground, gradually covering the buildings.

It is not yet clear when the volcano could reach. Sulfur dioxide emissions, a measure of volcanic strength, have fallen on Saturday, but these are natural fluctuations that cannot yet be clarified for the foreseeable future.

Health experts say air quality on Palma Island is currently “extremely unfavorable”. Lava and ash cover an area of about 1,000 hectares.
