The fish processing company AS “Brīvais vilnis” worked last year with a turnover of 14.327 million euros, which is 28.7% more than a year earlier, and the company also made a profit of 818,703 euros, as opposed to losses a year earlier, according to “Firmas.lv” information. .
The management report of the company’s annual report states that “Brivais vilnis” produced 20.15 million boxes of various canned fish in 2022, including 6.9 million boxes of sprats. Of the total production, 20.4 million cans were sold last year for 14.3 million euros. Compared to 2021, the amount of cans sold last year increased by 11.5%.
The increase in the turnover of “Free Wave” was facilitated not only by the increase in sales, but also by the increase in prices caused by inflation, according to the management report.
At the same time, the company’s management notes that last year “Brīvais vilnis” stabilized its operations in the Latvian market, as well as increased sales in Uzbekistan and Spain. Also, according to the management report, the recognition of the company’s trademark has increased.
The annual report also states that “Free Wave”, unlike other companies in the industry, has no shortage of labor force, and the company does not employ guest workers.
The company emphasizes that this year it is planned to increase turnover by 10%, as well as to continue work on the development of new products.
It has already been reported that in 2021, “Brivais vilnis” worked with a turnover of 11.13 million euros, which is 6.6% less than the year before, while the company suffered a loss of 248,195 euros in contrast to the profit a year earlier.
The company “Brivais vilnis” was registered in 1992, and its share capital is 4.339 million euros. The company’s largest shareholder is SIA “Mūsu incijesti fonds”, whose members are Arnolds Babris (49.79%) and the company’s executive director Māris Trankalis (50.21%).
