Ajax has lost a number of supporting players in recent seasons and then mainly affected the foreign transfer market. Willem Vissers, journalist for de Volkskrant, thinks so Ajax must also look for reinforcements within national borders.

Vissers believes that Ajax should also have reported to clubs such as AZ and PSV in the search for reinforcements. “As Ajax, I would have simply said to AZ: we want Stengs. I would have said to PSV: we want Malen”, he is clear. Kenneth Perez suggests yet another AZ name. “Midtsjö is also a good reinforcement for Ajax.” Valentijn Driessen, football chief of De Telegraaf clearly does not agree with this. “Midtsjö? A reinforcement for Ajax? No, of course not.”
