As a symbol of solidarity, members of the DPR unite in wearing Palestinian scarves during the plenary session

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — There was an interesting sight at the Plenary Session opening the second session of the 2023-2024 Session Year at the DPR RI parliamentary complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (31/10/2023) morning.

Hundreds of Indonesian DPR members wore scarves depicting the Palestinian flag. The Palestinian scarves were deliberately distributed by the CEO of the Friendship and Civilization Studies Foundation, Ahed Abu Al Atta, as a form of support from the Indonesian government and the DPR for the Palestinian people.

Ahed Abu Al Atta distributed the scarves to DPR members at the entrance to the courtroom.

Member of Commission V DPR RI Hamka B Kady was one of those seen wearing a Palestinian scarf expressing concern and support for an immediate end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Palestine.

“The Indonesian Parliament condemns Israel’s inhumane attacks on the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza. The Indonesian Parliament urges the Israeli government to truly stop all forms of violence against Palestinians,” said Hamka.

According to the Senior Golkar Politician, Indonesia’s relations with Palestine are not just friendly relations between countries. But more than that, he’s like a brother.

Therefore, he asked the government to continue to put pressure and be firm on Israel so that it stops all acts of violence.

“Therefore, once again we hope that Israel will immediately stop all acts of violence. This war, which has claimed many lives, especially civilians, must end immediately,” he stressed. (Pram/dawn)
