Aryna Sabalenka regains first place in the WTA rankings

Aryna Sabalenka is walking on water this season. Victorious twice in the Grand Slam in 2024 (Australian Open and US Open), the Belarusian confirmed her excellent form during the Asian tour, by winning the WTA 1000 in Wuhan. A victory which allows him to overtake Iga Swiatek in first place in the ranking. The Pole did not defend her title in China for “personal reasons”.

Sabalenka did not take part in the Tokyo tournament this week. The new world number one should rest until the WTA Finals, in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), on November 2, where she will try to end the year on the highest step of the podium.

Few changes in the top 15
