On Monday at 10:00, a total of 966 of Arva’s customers are without power. The number will vary continuously as Arva’s operations center and fitter resources work continuously to find and correct the causes of errors.
The company says so in a press release.
The next report from Arva will be sent out at 14:00, Monday afternoon.
Challenging accessibility
– The reasons for the ongoing power outages have largely been explained and the power supply will be restored as soon as possible and traveling outside is prudent for our resources, says emergency manager Per-Magne Johansen in Arv
– At the latest a few minutes ago, we also had an incident in the middle of Tromsøya where 605 customers are now without power. We do not know the cause here, but fitter resources have been called out for troubleshooting.
According to Arva, they have deployed fitter resources and material at strategic locations, both in Nordland and Troms. Places where accessibility can be challenging, such as mountain passes and bridges.
Precipitation combined with wind affects accessibility on land. In addition, wind and gusts affect accessibility on the sea, according to the company.
– In addition to the fact that strong winds can be challenging for the air network, we see that salt that is whipped up from the sea can potentially cause us to break the power supply due to the network switching out on earth faults, Johansen continues.
Safety
– The security of our resources must be safeguarded. There is a significant risk of avalanches and, in addition, there may be loose objects in the air. As the weather looks set to last for a while, we have prepared to deploy a good number of crews so that we will also have fresh energy to carry out troubleshooting and troubleshooting in the coming days – should there be more power outages, says Johansen.
– We follow the weather reports. Some error correction will perhaps be possible at the earliest when the weather has calmed down.
