A vision and a strategic plan that by 2025 will accelerate the expansion of the business, from current long-term car rental to providing a broad spectrum of sustainable mobility solutions. Arval, a company that manages a fleet of 1.3 million vehicles worldwide (217,000 in Italy with over 50,000 customers), present in 30 countries, presented the plan Arval Beyond. The key points? The company will focus on sustainable mobility and fleets that are increasingly technological and connected; in addition to cars, here is the launch of the ebike sharing service (also in Italy), with the pedal assisted bicycle considered one of the most suitable means for the mobility of tomorrow (adjustable according to the daily needs and of the individual). The strategic plan also includes a strong investment in the zero-emission vehicle sector. The goal is to to reach 500,000 electric cars to reduce by 30% the CO2 emissions of a fleet which, in the same period, will count 2 million vehicles.

INTEGRATED SERVICES FOR COMPANIES AND COLLABORATORS
—
Founded in 1989, present in Italy since 1995, Arval – owned by the Bnp-Paribas group – has an eco-sustainable vision of the future. The era of Covid-19 has speeded up the transition to an increasingly “green” and modular business model. In this transition, the car will remain central, but it will not be the only means of transport that can be rented. “The strategy Arval Beyond it is a five-year plan that incorporates this new approach and has great ambition – explained Alain Van Groenendael, president and CEO of Arval, presenting the objectives -. Not just strengthening our historical business model, but to go further and become the reference company for sustainable mobility solutions “. To achieve its objectives, Arval is betting on four new offers. Among these stands out “360 ° Mobility”, a concept that encompasses the vision of a new form of mobility not only linked to cars, but also to the rental of pedal assisted e-bikes, car sharing, micro-mobility solutions (including scooters); by 2025, integrated alternative and sustainable mobility products and services will therefore be available in all countries where Arval operates. Customers? Companies, but also their collaborators and employees.

ARVAL, A TECHNOLOGICAL AND CONNECTED FLEET
—
Particular attention in Arval’s 2020-25 vision is placed in the concepts of environmental sustainability and technology applied to fleets, which are concretely expressed in the “Good For You, Good For All” proposal, an integrated offer that allows customers to rent cars 100% electric, but not only; customers, in fact, in the same “package” they can have an ebike and have a vehicle with a combustion engine available for a few weeks a year (the offer also includes ad hoc solutions for recharging EV vehicles). The benefit? Choose the most suitable means of transport according to your needs. In addition, to reduce operating costs, Arval offers a reduction in insurance premiums for vehicles equipped with Adas driver assistance systems. In this direction, the increasingly massive adoption on the fleet of systems such as lane keeping, recognition of front obstacles and the rear view camera with 360 ° vision aims to reduce accidents by 10% – by 2025 -. While with the “Connected & Flexible” offer (the goal by 2025 is that 80% of the fleet is connected to the network, ensuring that the cars exchange data with each other) Arval will facilitate the management of rented vehicles, even 100% electric ones. Such as? With services such as digital parking payment, car wash booking, parcel delivery within the same car (without the need for the physical presence of the driver).

ARVAL: THE STRATEGIC PLAN FOR ITALY
—
Italy will also play a key role in the 2020-25 strategic plan. In addition to the services and complementary products to the long-term rental already in place (such as “Arval Mid Term”, the flexible rental from 1 to 24 months), and the launch of Telepass Next in 2019, here is the arrival of e-bikes from to rent. In 2021, around 300 e-bikes will be available for rent in Italy. A novelty (also) the result of a study conducted with Nielsen on a sample of 1,500 Italians interviewed in mid-2020. “We launch the ebike rental with two models, one more suitable for men, the other for women – explained Alessia Pedersini, communications director of Arval Italia -. Our study showed how individual and corporate mobility is changing after lockdown. 59% of Italians are willing to use e-bikes as a means of transport, and 75% of respondents travel less than 15 kilometers in the commute from home to work. The ebike is therefore perfect ”. Arval, therefore, offers the rental of pedal assisted bicycles of the Kalkhoff brand, trekking models suitable in the city and in leisure time, with a package also including theft and damage insurance, ordinary and extraordinary maintenance, tire change every 5 thousand kilometers, and accessories, such as the helmet, the anti-theft lock and anti-puncture tires. A rental aimed at Arval customers (companies) and employees of the same companies, which in the future could expand to the private public. “We have chosen Focus Group as a partner, an operator present throughout the country, who will take care of the assistance of e-bikes, because maintenance is essential in the rental” concluded Pedersini. Prices? Two “sizes”: 113 euros per month (for a 12-month rental) or 87 euros (24 months).
