Tonight, the cabinet will look ahead to the coming months with a new press conference about corona policy. For the new academic year at universities and colleges, the cabinet plans to let go of the 1.5 meter rule, sources from The Hague reported yesterday. Additional measures are being considered, such as a maximum number of students in lecture halls. This should ensure that if infected people attend a lecture, a very large group does not immediately run the risk of becoming infected with the corona virus.
Further relaxations are not expected now. This means that the restrictions that now apply to, for example, the catering industry, festivals and nightlife will remain in force for the time being. There will be a new decision point in mid-September.
