Brazilian leaves 15 million euros in his former club’s coffers

Artur Guimarães was signed to Zenit until 2027 (with one more season as an option), coming from Abel Ferreira’s Palmeiras, who sold him for around 15 million euros.

The striker was trained precisely at the two-time Brazilian champion, but was loaned twice to other clubs, before being transferred, for six million euros, to Bragantino, now owned by Pedro Caixinha. Three seasons later, the player was picked up by Abel Ferreira, for eight million euros, and helped the Portuguese coach win several titles, including the second title.

The deal had already been taken for granted for some time, but it was only now made official by the Russian club, which also announced the signing of its compatriot, Nino, the captain of Fluminense, winner of the Libertadores, for 5 million euros.
