Artist Ieva Iltnere’s “Tolerance to Secret” – exhibition in Valmiera / Article / LSM.lv

“Tolerance to a Secret” – this is the name of the artist Ieva Iltnere for her latest solo exhibition. The exhibition opened on December 11 at the Valmiera Museum Exhibition House.

As the painter reveals, the exhibition in Valmiera is named after one of the exhibited works. “Tolerance of a Secret” is a painting that shows how one reality overlaps another. According to the artist, this is very appropriate for this time.

Guna Medne, Head of the Exhibition and Events Department of the Valmiera Museum, said in a conversation with Latvijas Radio: “The artist Ieva Iltnere is one of the brightest and most creatively fulfilled artists of her generation in Latvia. The artist has named the exhibition in Valmiera “Tolerance to a Secret”, now this exhibition is exactly the same, different, the artist is again different, as she was seen ten years ago in the Valmiera Museum, but still her special character, handwriting is preserved, and the exhibition will also works done in the last ten years. So, from December and January, Valmiera residents and guests of the city can, of course, observe the rules of our country, visit, enjoy, watch, because art is what sustains our spirit, well, such a good vaccine. ”

The exhibition will be available to those interested from December 12 to January 30 next year.

CONTEXT:

As the spread of Covid-19 is not declining despite the emergency declared in November, the government extended the emergency until 11 January, also introducing new security measures.

Museums, related art exhibitions and libraries will be able to continue their work as before, in strict compliance with all epidemiological requirements. Other cultural sites will be closed to visitors until 11 January next year.
