The concert would have marked the artist’s return to the stage after she herself announced on social media on August 4th that she had to suspend her summer tour to undergo surgery. The dates in Milan, Cuneo and Verona have also been cancelled.
«I wanted to tell you transparently what happened in the last year. Unfortunately I was told by the doctors that following the surgery I had to undergo a month ago it will not be possible for me to return to the stage as I thought. I am therefore forced to cancel all upcoming tour dates. I am very sorry, thank you for your understanding,” Michielin wrote on Instagram. In the long post on social media, the artist explained that the health problem she has been suffering from for a year has made invasive surgery necessary and despite her desire to return to performing live, the doctors have advised her to spend a further period away from live performances.
«In the last ten days, as per the “protocol”, I have slowly returned to making music. Trying to do the usual vocal training, I felt increasingly severe abdominal pain, which intensified and became unbearable. I thought they would come back, that everything was normal, but every day I felt worse and worse.
Let’s get to today, Friday: the doctors, after several visits, told me that I have to stay longer than the time initially suggested. And you can’t imagine the sadness and frustration this news caused me. According to them, it is not the right time to return to the stage and I need to take a few more weeks to go back to doing my job, which allows me to connect with you and feel (really) well. So I’m here to apologize to you, with all my heart, because I find myself forced to also cancel the last dates of the summer tour and the next commitments. I wanted to tell you with great transparency what happened to me, and I hope you can understand how heartbroken I am at not being able to return to the stage. And I hope, above all, that you will remain by my side, because perhaps, today, I need it more than ever. I promise you that soon we will return to singing and living “without degrees of separation.” As always, in the last ten years.”
The 27th edition will close with Ritmika Mobrici, former frontman and composer of Canova, in a concert with free admission.
