Artist Alexandra Grant (50) lifts the lid on her relationship with Hollywood star Keanu Reeves (59).

The two have been lovers for almost five years – after having been friends and colleagues for many years before that time. Among other things, Grant illustrated two of the film star’s books long before they got together.
However, it is among the rarities that they appear together in public – or talk about private life. Now Alexandra Grant has made an exception.
When the 50-year-old was to be honored at the Beverly Arts Icon Awards in Los Angeles on Friday, she arrived without her famous boyfriend.
– He is so kind
When asked by People if it is “more difficult to walk the red carpet alone”, she was clear in her speech:
– What’s so nice about falling in love in adulthood is that I had already established my own career before entering into this relationship. I feel very confident when I walk the red carpet with my boyfriend, and I feel confident when I walk it alone.
Grant nevertheless spoke warmly of Reeves, known from, among other things, the “Matrix” films.
– He is such a great inspiration to me. He is creative and he is so kind. And he works very hard, she said, adding:
– What I love about Keanu and everything we share is that we push each other to take new paths.

The reason Reeves missed his girlfriend’s awards gala was because he was holding a concert with his band, Dogstar. The girlfriend clarified that she is very proud of Reeve’s musical achievements.
– I’m a big Dogstar fan, and I was at their very first concert ever.
Grant also explained that she believes both she and Reeves are engaged in storytelling, each in their own way.
Happy
– My job is of the more private kind. I change a text into a painting, while he takes a text and brings it out to the public.
The artist believes Reeves has had a great influence on her work.
– I heard from a person a few years ago that he could see “that my art has become happier”. And that’s right. We all express ourselves from where we are, and I am truly happier now.
