Lawyer Amr Abdel Salam said that the artist, Ahmed Flux, was arrested while he was in a hotel in Marsa Matrouh Governorate last Sunday, and was transferred to the Agouza police station in Cairo, and awaiting his deportation to his prison cell to serve the sentence issued against him by two years in prison for insulting and slandering his client, Yasmine Ezzat, Former basketball player.
Abdel Salam added, in a statement to Al-Shorouk, that the insulting incident dates back to July 2020, when the accused sent some messages to his client who had a friendship relationship through social networking sites “Instagram – WhatsApp – and Facebook”, which contained insults, slander, threats and defamation.
The lawyer added that after that, his client went and wrote a report to the Internet Investigation Department, which confirmed the validity of the communication through the technical report of the mobile number, and it was found that it belonged to the accused, the artist Ahmed Flux, and from here he was referred to trial.
Abdel Salam revealed that the Economic Court ruled that the accused be punished in the first-degree sentence with one year in prison, according to 5 charges (insult and slander – defamation – misuse of social networking sites – defaming the reputation of families – defaming his client).
Abdel Salam explained that the accused filed an appeal against the ruling issued by the Economic Court, but he failed to appear, and his defense was present in the session by proxy. At that time, the session was adjourned to the presence of the accused in person, but the accused failed to appear for the second time, and from here the court amended the sentence from one year imprisonment. And a fine of 10,000 pounds, to two years, and a fine of 200,000 pounds.
The lawyer revealed that there was a final stage for the accused, which is his appeal against the ruling, for which a session was set for January 24, 2022, and the accused did not appear for the third time in a row, and from here the amended ruling became final and enforceable, until he was arrested after sending notifications to the Ministry of Interior and the Directorate of Security. subtracted.
The accused passed the imprisonment form, and it is assumed that the sentence will be served from today’s date until the end of the sentence in 2025.
