In the new exhibition hall of Liepāja Music, Art and Design Secondary School (LMMDV) (Alejas iela 18) the exhibition of artist and painter Artis Butes “ARTisCOOL!” is open until October 10. The exhibition was opened on Friday, September 8, representatives of Liepāja Music, Art and Design High School informed the portal.
The exhibition reveals the unique approach to art of the artist and painter Artas Butes, which has crystallized over more than thirty years. Bute’s works include references to the past era – Art Nouveau and Art Deco art, the search for which can turn into a special entertainment for an erudite viewer. The exhibition includes works created in recent years, as well as several elements of Artas Bute’s work inventory and the scenography model created by him for the Liepāja theater play “Aija” (Jānis Jaunsudabiņš, directed by Oļgert Crowder (1986)).
Artis Bute has participated in many exhibitions in Latvia and abroad, and his works are in the collection of the Latvian National Art Museum and in the possession of many private collectors. He has created a series of personal exhibitions, as well as created scenography for many Latvian theater performances.
