Iran: nuclear physicist killed by satellite

A leading nuclear researcher is killed in a targeted attack in Iran. His wife just missed the bullets. According to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, “no terrorists” were there. The machine gun on the pickup is said to have been remote-controlled.
The nuclear physicist Mohsen Fachrisadeh, who was murdered at the end of November, was killed with a satellite-controlled machine gun, according to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The attackers used an “advanced camera and artificial intelligence” during the attack, the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guard Ali Fadawi told local media. The machine gun mounted on a Nissan pickup “zoomed” in on his face and fired 13 shots.
Fachrisadeh’s wife was not hit, “although she was only 25 centimeters away,” said the news agency Mehr Fadawi. Fachrisadeh was accompanied by eleven security forces of the Revolutionary Guard. His head of security was hit four times when he threw himself protectively over the scientist. There were “no terrorists” there, added Fadawi. The weapon was controlled by satellite.
The Iranian scientist Fachrisadeh was killed in a targeted attack near Tehran. Iran accused Israel and the opposition group in exile, People’s Mujahideen, of being behind the attack. Various reports have been published since the attack. The Iranian Defense Ministry had initially stated that there had been an exchange of fire between the attackers and Fachrisadeh’s security guards. Later there was talk of a remote-controlled weapon.
