One can be the son of illustrious political personalities and not be made for studies. Arthur Germain has an atypical profile among his “son of” friends. While it is the fruit of the marriage of Anne Hidalgo and Jean-Marc Germain, he chose a commitment very different from that of his parents: very active in favor of the fight for the environment, he militates in many associations, but not at all in politics and cultivates his independence. Besides, he does not have the necessary education to enter this environment and admits it himself: “The baccalaureate was a difficult moment for me”.

Feeling inadequate in the school environment, he found his way in the associative commitmentin parallel with his lessons, while he was in high school. “I didn’t like high school at all. Anyway, it wasn’t made for me, not that I was particularly good or bad, but the framework didn’t suit me at all.” he confided on the platform. Even if he obtained a scientific baccalaureate in 2019, Arthur Germain immediately decides to devote himself to ecology going very quickly through the “university” box: “I did two or three months of college in a university of physics and philosophy, but I left.” he added.

After having notably decided to become a volunteer within the association Tara, who fights for the protection of the oceanshe carried out his civic service within the foundation GoodPlanet. Arthur Germain also has several sporting achievements to his credit, including some swimming records. Recently accused of having betrayed his mother, Anne Hidalgo, by voting blank in the presidential and legislative elections, he retorted by saying that he did not understand why a politician’s son could not abstain from voting, and even insisted that the abstention is taken into account in a democracy.
