Athletic reported in early July that Arsenal had hired a set piece coach.
The post claims that the Gunners had welcomed Nicolas Jover aboard.
Jover spent the first half of the 2019-20 campaign working alongside Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta at Manchester City, before the latter was signed by North Londoners.
And on Friday the Asturian himself confirmed the news through the official Arsenal website:
«Yes, we had a situation in the summer with Andreas [Georgson], where he had the possibility of leaving for his country. He had different reasons for doing that and I understood that situation, so we needed to hire someone. After analyzing what would be the best solution, a person that I know was in the market was available, is someone whose experience is incredibly useful and valuable to us. Join us. His name is Nicolas Jover and I have worked with him before at City ”.

Who is Nicolas Jover?
Well, as mentioned above, Jover is a specialist in set pieces and that should, in theory, make Arsenal that much more powerful in dead ball situations.
He replaces Arteta’s first team coach Andreas Georgson, who left London Colney after just one year to become Malmo’s director of football.
Although he spent two years with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, it is not strictly about Arsenal taking the Frenchman in light of the fact that his contract at Eastlands had expired.
Before his time with the Sky Blues, Jover had worked with Brentford and was obviously impressed enough to land a much bigger role on Pep’s team.
