Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbik, despite the fact that at the beginning of this summer he extended his contract with SC Dnepr-1, made a decision and changed his club registration. He moved to the Spanish national championship, where he signed a contract with the Girona football club. Artem spoke about his decision and its reasons in an interview with Football TIME.
Dovbik feels the responsibility that has fallen on him, as the club spent a record amount on him. Therefore, in the nearest plans he has to “squeeze the maximum out of himself” and show a decent result on the field. Artem plans to convert his work on the football field into goals.
After the transfer took place and Dovbik moved to Girona, Viktor Tsygankov, who already plays for this team, advised his compatriot not to be afraid and not to be modest. He advised this from his own experience, because after his transfer he was afraid to ask something, which is why his adaptation was longer than it could be. The forward also admitted that the presence of Victor in the team will give him more freedom.
We remind you that Artem Dovbik has bound himself with a contract agreement with Girona until 2028. In the new team, he made his debut in a sparring against FC Lazio, where he played a little more than 15 minutes. He did not score with effective actions in this game, but the team then won with a score of 2:1. But in the first official match (1st round of the Spanish La Liga) against Real Sociedad, Dovbik entered the field in the 64th minute of the match and already in the 72nd minute he scored a goal from the filing of Viktor Tsygankov. It should be noted that thanks to Artem’s goal, Girona survived and did not lose. The match ended in a draw 1:1.
