‘Artdocfest / Riga’ will show eight current documentaries online

Due to the state of emergency in the country, the festival “Artdocfest / Riga”, which was moved to spring, announces an online version – eight current documentaries, which will be screened from November 25 to December 1.

According to the festival organizers, during this time, one film that has recently achieved international success and recognition will be offered to the Latvian public free of charge. It will be provided with a translation – there will be subtitles in Latvian or English. The film screenings of the online festival will take place on a “one film a day” basis. You will be able to watch movies “Artdocfest / Riga” website.

Program:

November 25 – “Alone“(Belarus);
November 26 – “White Mom » (Russia);
November 27 – “Wall“(Latvia) /”Leap“(Lithuania, Latvia);
November 28 – “Winter garden story“(Ukraine, Czech Republic);
November 29 – “Putin’s Witnesses (Latvia, Czech Republic, Switzerland);
November 30 – “Firefighter. Grandmother. Unicorn“(Poland);
December 1 – “Waiting for a Miracle » (Estonia).

All films on the specified date will be available for free in the territory of Latvia, except for the film “Leap”, which will be shown on streaming platforms for a separate fee.

It has already been reported that the festival is organized by an internationally acclaimed Russian documentary filmmaker Vitālijs Manskis, who is currently settling in Riga. His documentary film festival has been taking place in Moscow for several years, in Latvia it has been part of the Riga International Film Festival (Riga IFF) program until now, but this year for the first time it is taking place as a separate festival.
