Art without a home – “Mobile Museum” in the territory of “Bolshevich” / Article

At the beginning of June in the territory of the former textile factory “Bolshevich”, Ganibu dambis 30, Latvian Center for Contemporary Art opened the art park ” Mobile Museum. Next season ”. As the Center for Contemporary Art explains, the exhibition features works by well-known Latvian artists who have been created in the last 30 years and deserve to be in the Museum of Contemporary Art, which still does not exist in Latvia. –

The exposition of the park can be seen until August 29. Opening hours: Thursdays and Fridays from 14:00 to 20:00, Saturdays from 12:00 to 20:00. June 24, June 25 and June 26 – holidays. Free entrance.

A guide with large format works will not get lost audio guide. It is a digital catalog of the art park, where an interactive map of the art park is available, an outline of the curator’s concept can be read, it is possible to get acquainted with the current events of the public program, listen to an audio guide about works of art and artists. To use the guide while in the art park, use the smartphone camera by pointing it at the QR code that appears next to the job description. Use headphones for uninterrupted audio reception.

Within the framework of the Art Park, there will also be a public program under the name “Fictive Museum”, which will include events, master classes, author evenings and discussions.
