Art Rooijakkers is not exactly received warmly by his new employer Talpa. The men of Today Inside don’t like this acquisition at all. “I think he’s a slick guy!” he says.

Of course, no one would like it, but we all know it now: the new evening show of SBS 6 for which Art Rooijakkers is leaving his current employer RTL 4 will run for a maximum of three months. There is a very good chance that Nieuws van de Dag, as the show is called, will flop enormously, just like 6 Inside.

Johan Derksen: “I have already said what I think of him. Frans Klein (Talpa-bobo, ed.) thinks he’s great, I read in the press release. I think he’s a smooth-talker, an ideal son-in-law and I don’t like that type at all. Such a type is also extremely unsuitable for the Talpa audience. They all think he’s a smooth-talker.”
‘Not my type’
René doesn’t get excited about it either. “Do I still have to get over this? Hahahaha. Yes, it’s not my type either, but that doesn’t matter, right? I have this thing on my TV and then I can turn it off.”
Johan: “The brutality of that smooth-talker, that Art. That he also says in that interview: ‘Yes, I’m not really into those tables with meninks. Certainly not from people who don’t understand it.’”
Hélène Hendriks: “It will be a table with opinions, won’t it?”
Talk show hijacking
Wilfred thinks that Art has more pretensions. “Yes, but those are people who know about it,” he says cynically.
Johan: “And he counts himself among them! They locked him up for four years. He will also get the talk show that Wilfred wants.”
Wilfred: “There is a good chance. I think so too, to be honest. You know I’d like an interview program, right? Just have the time to do a longer interview.”
Very difficult
Oops, is Art now coming back to a channel as a program hijacker? He once arrived at RTL as the man who kicked out Dennis Weening at Expedition Robinson. Due to the fuss about this, he was not assigned to the presentation until much later.
Hélène wonders whether Doctor’s new news show on SBS 6 will be successful. “Do you think six hours works?”

Johan also expects that it will not work out. “That has never worked at Talpa.”
By the way, regular VI guest Nico Dijkshoorn also expressed negative views about Art a few weeks ago. He said: “Those Art Rooijakkers, dude. Such a disappointment that that guy presents B&B Vol Liefde at the end. You’re enjoying yourself for six weeks and then that choir boy suddenly comes into the picture!”
