The international discussion will be broadcast by the Latvian Center for Contemporary Art Facebook account. Its central questions are subordinated to the creation of a new institution – the Museum of Contemporary Art in Riga, within which, together with curators from institutions in the region and beyond, will try to answer questions – what would be a healthy balance between global, local and regional museum? How to create a new institution in Riga, not only to tell the story of Latvian art and visual culture through collection, research and exhibition activities, but also to create a transnational Baltic region, which is both historically and now part of various geopolitical processes beyond the region?
The meeting will be moderated by Inga Lāce, a C-MAP researcher from Central and Eastern Europe, and will be attended by: Charles Esche, Director of the Van Abes Museum in Eindhoven, Liisa Kaljula, Head of the Painting Department at the Kumu Art Museum in Tallinn, Kati Kivinen Kivinen), Chief Curator of the Helsinki Museum of Contemporary Art “Kiasma”, Alicja Knock, Curator at the Pompidou Center in Paris, Daniel Muzichuk, Head of the Modern Art Department of the Lodz Art Museum, Paulina Pobocha, Associate Curator of the Painting and Sculpture Department, Museum of Modern Art in New York.
It is already customary that this year the public program of the art park is enriched by various performances and master classes. After the online discussion, those interested are invited to go to Ganību dambis 30, where the contemporary dance performance “Femina” will be shown, which will take place next to the works “Rust Paintings” by the artist Ivars Drulle Art Park. The dance performance will herald the search for the superwoman’s gene – a manifestation of the woman’s body and the dual and contradictory image of the woman in society and culture. It is a creative work, which brings together artists from interdisciplinary fields to promote international art projects, as it brings together young Latvian and Lithuanian professional artists: choreographer and author of the idea Sabine Neilande, director from Lithuania Naubertas Jasinskis, dancer Laura Gorodko, musician L set designer Līga Ūbele and multimedia artist Marianna Lapiņa. Admission is free upon presentation of a valid Covid-19 certificate attesting to the fact of Covid-19 illness or vaccination.
These are one of the closing events of the public program of the art park “Mobile Museum. Next Season”, which takes place at the art park exhibition, as it is open and can be viewed free of charge only until August 29.

It has already been reported that this year the public programs of the art park “Mobile Museum. Next Season” and the festival “Survival Kit” combine a common name and thematic framework “Fictitious Museum”, thus creating an illusory museum structure consisting of future and past museum departments.
