Around 350 works from the past 40 years, including photos, videos and multimedia installations, are to be on display in the fall in the “Wolfgang Tillmans: To look without fear” show at the renowned Manhattan museum, according to the organizers. After that, the exhibition will also be shown in Toronto and San Francisco. Tillmans has a “deeply innovative, philosophical and creative approach” to his work and has revolutionized photographic presentation, according to MoMA. The artist, who is also heavily involved in social causes, became known in the early 1990s with photographs from youth and pop culture.
