It took just over twelve minutes before it came loose for Filip Forsberg who after a pass from Ryan Johansen lost the balance in front of goal – but that did not stop the Swede who in the middle of the case managed to steer the puck into goal and arrange a 1-0 lead to Nasvhille.
But Carolina as the Central Division in the NHL’s regular season would respond after 90 seconds.
Nashville took the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division and it will probably be tough for Filip Forsberg and teammates Calle Järnkrok, Viktor Arvidsson and Mattias Ekholm to beat Carolina, with Jesper Fast in the squad.
Carolina turned in third
In the second period it was 2-2, but in the third Carolina pulled in from 4-2.
Nashville then decided to take out the goalkeeper, but in vain, and Carolina put the final score 5-2 in an empty cage.
The teams meet again the night before Thursday, Swedish time.
