Art Garden Festival: Expositions, Lily Flower Exhibition, Poetry & Music Play

On August 6, at 4:00 p.m., at the exposition of the house of the Skulmju family in Mālpils parish, a “Garden festival for art” is expected: at 4:00 p.m., expositions and a tour of the garden, it will be possible to see the work of artists in the open air; at 17.00 lily flower exhibition and opportunity to talk with lily grower and collector Jānis Gaigalniekus; at 18.00 the artists of Sigulda region pop-up opening of the outdoor exhibition; at 19.00 poetry and music play “Es nemāku, komatus” (Ilmārs Šlāpins and “Trio Tresensus”).

The ensemble “Trio Tresensus” and the poet, philosopher Ilmārs Šlāpins invite the audience to enjoy the harmony of music and poetry, the interaction of the original music and texts of the younger generation of Latvian composers, showing how diverse, beautiful and emotionally deep the works of young composers and writers are. Chokletist Līga Griķe, saxophonist Aigars Raumanis and percussionist Uģis Upenieks have performed a variety of contemporary Latvian chamber music pieces for the concert – Amsterdam Conservatory student Elizabetes Beātes Rudzinskas’ work full of contrasts “Awakening”, Jāzeps Vītolas Latvian Academy of Music student Renāts Cvečkovskis’ tango in memory of Oskar Strok “Souvenir de Dwinsk”, Laura Gat Žarinova’s sentimental cycle “Pieces” and two opus of talented jazz musicians – “Inner Voices” by Erik Miež and a new work by Edgars Cīrulis. The program also includes the rhythmic opus “O Peixe” by Aigars Raumanis and the work “Shupuldziesma” surrounded by transcendental peace by Andras Vecumnieks.
