Art festival Watou celebrates 40th edition with new locations: from koterij to castle

Watou remains the center of the festival. Art and poetry can be found in the church, the brewery, the parish hall, but also in ‘t Graafschap, a horticultural company participating for the first time.

In the center of Poperinge you can find the Guest house chapel where new work by Leon Vrancken is shown. But the eye-catcher of this edition is undoubtedly castle De Lovie about 10 kilometers from Watou. The castle is in keeping with tradition, as it is a battered place, with holes in the ceilings and wallpaper peeling off the walls. Artist Edith Dekyndt even asked to leave the dust in the room where her artwork would be.
